Doreen Massey, pioneer in the field of radical geography – the study of processes (political and economic) and spatial relations that bring about global inequality – is to be a guest at the Politecnico in Milan where she will be giving a talk on the concepts of space and time in the age of globalisation.

“If time is the dimension of change, in space all the elements of multiplicity are represented, that reflect on the territory”, wrote the British scholar who teaches geography at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Open University and has collaborated with various artists, such as Ólafur Eliasson regarding the influence of climate and place on our perception.

Her books include For Space (2005), City Worlds: Understanding Cities and Space, Place and Gender. The talk will be introduced by art critic Anna Detheridge and there will be contributions from Alessandro Balducci and head of the politecnico Pier Carlo Palermo. E.S.
