A special presentation within the fair entitled outLOOK 2003, displays to architects and designers in general how to conceive buildings which are energy efficient using an integrated approach to the technical side of building.
Prof. Armin Dietmar Rogall from the Fachhochschule in Bochum and Prof. Gerd Hauser from the university of Kassel were appointed to develop the concept behind the presentation whilst the planning in spatial terms has been given over to architect Luis Ocanto-Arciniegas.
The centrepiece of the presentation in the Galleria is an “inside out house” which contains a series of multimedia presentations and conferences. The house is made in such a way as to reveal the domo-technology which normally would be hidden. As such, the house is conceived as a black box, a space laid out to give shape to the input and output of technical installations. Outside, in the “white cubes” are a box with display, an information counter, a control section and a lounge which acts as an area for communication and discussions.
