The Arc en Rêve gallery in Bordeaux has collaborated with Belgian museum deSingel and the Architektur Zentrum in Vienna to put together an exhibition dedicated to the French studio of Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, who have been working together since 1987.
Showing first in Bordeaux (until 19 January) and next year in Antwerp and Vienna, the exhibition includes the designs and buildings of French architect pair who are noted on the international scene for their minimalist approach and radical solutions in the name of simplicity.
An approach which can be seen for example in the recent refurbishment of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, a new centre for contemporary art, the café at the Architektur Zentrum in Vienna as well as future social housing in Mulhouse. The exhibition opens (24 October 1800h) with a conference chaired by architecture critic Andreas Ruby.
