The 57th edition of Marmomac, the international exhibition for the techno-lapid industry, came to a close at Veronafiere.

Marmomac, the most important world event dedicated to the entire natural stone supply chain, confirms itself as much more than a trade fair: a platform where business and professional training meet, becoming a privileged place for business, innovation and project culture.

From 26 to 29 September 2023, architects and designers, companies, customers, partners, distributors, contractors and industry professionals met at Veronafiere to discuss a material culture that is always evolving. The focal point of Marmomac 2023's experimental attitude was The Plus Theatre in Hall 10, where various exhibitions and a busy schedule of appointments, workshops and talks in the Forum area were presented. New this year, The Applaud, is a dynamic installation curated by Giorgio Canale with the aim of highlighting the process of creating a sculpture - Fragment, by artist Andreas Senoner - that took shape during the days of the event, celebrating the contribution of the latest generation of machines, state-of-the-art technology and man to natural stone.

Raffaello Galiotto curated 'Herbarium Mirabile', an exhibition conceived as an imaginary herbarium populated by a series of artistic works in marble inspired by the plant kingdom. Academic training was entrusted to Giuseppe Fallacara, who through the Marmomac meets Academies programme involved Italian and foreign universities and research centres. In architecture, there are no ancient or modern materials, but it is the way in which one uses and shapes the material that makes it correspond to its time. With this in mind, prototypes made by students in collaboration with companies in the sector were exhibited, installed under a large 'suspended vault' made of stone elements.

With A Matter of Stone, the fair proposed a real commercial pavilion where companies displayed projects and design products, creating a creative space where architects, interior designers and professionals could find inspirations and applications showing the great potential of the stone sector. Finally, the physical event has a digital extension: the Marmomac Plus portal, an online tool designed to support business 365 days a year. In 2024, Veronafiere's exhibition calendar dedicated to the stone sector includes an appointment in Brazil with Vitória Stone Fair (30 January-2 February), in the run-up to the next edition of Marmomac, scheduled in Verona 24-27 September.
