Thanks to Stopray Vision glass, the Warsaw Unit skyscraper reduces CO2 emissions and optimizes energy efficiency, earning WELL v2 and BREEAM Excellent certifications.

In the fast-evolving global architectural landscape, the Warsaw Unit skyscraper, designed in Warsaw by the Polsko-Belgijska Pracownia Architektury Projekt studio, perfectly embodies the fusion of technology and architecture, also due to the use of cutting-edge materials like AGC's Stopray Vision glass.

A dynamic design

Standing at 202 meters with 46 floors, it houses offices, commercial spaces, and restaurants across more than 59,000 square meters. Moreover, it stands out for its ability to seamlessly blend into the surrounding urban environment, starting with a two-level glass atrium that erases the boundary between the exterior and interior, offering users continuous views of the city. One of the most distinctive elements of the Warsaw Unit is its "dragon skin," a kinetic façade composed of thousands of moving elements that react to even the slightest changes in the wind. This architectural detail not only enhances the building's aesthetics but also brings a sense of dynamism and movement, making it a living element in the heart of the city. The façade reflects the changing and unpredictable weather conditions, almost symbolizing the constant flow of urban life.

The excellence of AGC Stopray Vision glass

At the core of the beauty and energy efficiency of Warsaw Unit is the use of AGC's Stopray Vision-50T and Stopray Vision-60T glass. Thanks to their advanced technical features, these glasses play a crucial role in creating a comfortable and sustainable environment inside the building. Stopray Vision is a range of magnetron solar control glass, designed to offer maximum protection from solar heat while ensuring high light transmission. This reduces the energy load required for cooling without compromising the quality of natural light within the spaces.

Stopray Vision glass is known for its neutral aesthetics, characterized by a slight blue tint that blends well into the urban architectural context. The temperable versions, such as Stopray Vision-50T and Stopray Vision-60T, are ideal for combining with non-temperable solutions, always maintaining the same visual appearance and ensuring flawless aesthetic continuity. This flexibility allows architects to meet complex design requirements, such as using both curved and flat surfaces in a single façade.

Energy efficiency and sustainability

The focus on energy efficiency doesn't stop at the glass façade. Warsaw Unit is the first skyscraper in Poland to receive the prestigious WELL v2 certification, which recognizes structures that prioritize the well-being and health of users in their design. Additionally, it has also achieved the BREEAM Excellent certification, an international recognition of the building’s overall sustainability. AGC's Stopray Vision range, particularly in its Low-Carbon Glass versions, represents a significant step forward in reducing CO2 emissions during the production process. This results in a lower environmental impact throughout the building's life cycle, an essential aspect for the most advanced architectural projects.

A model for the future of urban design

Thanks to the use of AGC's Stopray Vision glass, Warsaw Unit demonstrates how it is possible to create livable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly spaces without sacrificing design quality. With the Warsaw Unit, Warsaw confirms its status as a forward-looking city, capable of reinventing its skyline with buildings that reflect not only modernity but also a new awareness of the world around us.
