It All Comes from Above is the concept that the Czech company will present at Euroluce 2023: an invitation to look at the sky and be inspired.
Turning our gaze towards the celestial vault has always been synonymous with reflection, the search for the pure and the wonder. Looking up at the constellations, the clouds and the infinite is an act capable of unsettling and revealing new perspectives to us. The sky is a panorama that also represents an extraordinary connective tissue between human beings of all latitudes, since it is shared by the gaze of all mankind.
For the next Salone del Mobile, from 18 to 23 April 2023, Lasvit will invite us to direct our gaze upwards and find inspiration from the sky, with a stand designed by Matěj Janský and Cyril Dunděra and entitled "It All Comes from Above". Natural light filtering through the clouds and the starry sky are the inspiration behind the new products to be presented at Euroluce, the biennial section of the Show that, balancing technology and poetry, architecture and design, brings together the best of the design dimension of light.
The centrepiece of Lasvit's presence at the fair is Cloud, a dynamic illuminated glass installation designed by the company's art director Maxim Velčovský. The installation is a creative way to explore the logic that connects individuals and the structures that house them, observing individual perspectives in relation to something greater, something that transcends each of us.
The sparkle of a New York night and the suggestion of the iconic celestial landscape that decorates the entire vault of Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan inspired David Rockwell to create Constellation, a series of six lamps that will be presented for the first time at Euroluce at the Lasvit stand. The collection expands by welcoming Ursa Minor, a new chandelier, the Cassiopeia wall lamp and the Gemini table lamp. The three pieces join a horizontal pendant, a wall lamp and a floor lamp, expressing the constellations of Cassiopeia, Tri Star and Polaris.
Lasvit will also debut its latest lighting collections created in collaboration with designers Yabu Pushelberg and the Campana Brothers and innovative lamps by design studio LLEV, revolutionary in the use of mycelium, which defines their final shape.
The presentation will also feature three sculptural installations of Lasvit’s Icons series. These signature designs reconfigure as Lasvit’s endlessly versatile lighting design systems, each with its own character and story. This time, however, the Lasvit Icons design concepts Pebbles, Twill, and the kinetic A:Live have been reimagined as artistic sculptures. Finally, Martin Gallo, a member of the Lasvit design team, will present his flower-like wall installation Florescence. The design concept combines organic shapes with the play of caustic effects creating the appearance of a blossoming flower growing on the wall.
