Material dialogues in the bathroom

Dialogo is the coordinated sinks and drawer units collection designed for Atlas Concorde by Mario Ferrarini, a designer with extensive experience in the bathroom furniture sector.

Long ago we abandoned the idea that the bathroom is just a service room. On the contrary, this space today is at the centre of major interior design trends. For several years now, its role has no longer been marginal and merely functional, becoming the room for hygiene, relaxation, comfort and self-care, a place to be cultivated with modern and refined furnishings.

The new collection of sinks and drawer units designed by Mario Ferrarini for Atlas Concorde goes in this direction. The name of the project, Dialogo (dialogue), immediately expresses the concept developed by the Italian designer: encounters between materials, in harmony or in contrast; between different surfaces; between an industrial reality such as Atlas Concorde and the world of design. Dialogo stems from the desire to create harmonious syntheses where surface effects, colours and volumes coexist.

Mario Ferrarini's design is characterised by regular geometries, parallel lines, calibrated dimensions and elegant material combinations. The bathroom furniture proposal is completed by a line of wall-hung furniture, so as to create coordinated spaces in which sink finishes, furnishings and accessories are conceived in an integrated and coherent manner.

The drawer units follow the characteristic trait of Ferrarini's aesthetic research – which has always been aimed at minimalism – and are designed to give order to space. The matt lacquered MDF structure supports a porcelain tile top, the same as the basin of the sink, guaranteeing solidity, durability and resistance to water and oily products. Each top is associated with a lacquer colour selected directly by the designer. The cabinets are designed to be positioned in axis with the sink or offset to accentuate the decorative aspect.

Among the products in the Dialogo collection: a designer sink, which elegantly and discreetly integrates a towel holder element; a wall-mounted sink, available with one or two basins, characterised by an essential structure and an extremely light appearance; a countertop basin which, thanks to the use of porcelain tile, offers an elegant and contemporary accent, as well as the possibility of coordination with floor and wall coverings; a freestanding and sculptural sink, which emphasises the expressive power and material charge of porcelain tile in its third dimension.

The 2022 edition of the Red Dot Design Award has recognized the creative impact and the innovation by Atlas Concorde honouring the products of the Dialogo collection in the Product Design category.
