For the Het Epos primary schools in Rotterdam, SeArch designed an extremely flexible system of prefabricated modules which also integrated all the installations, including the lighting system by Performance iN Lighting.
The Het Epos kindergarten is designed for the education of the future. The architecture firm SeArch, together with the contractor De Groot Vroomshoop, developed a sustainable and extremely flexible construction system: the wooden structure, consisting of 75 prefabricated modules, can be easily dismantled, moved and expanded. Thanks to the innovative assembly system, construction time is reduced to a minimum, allowing completion in just a few months.
The systems are also integrated into the prefabricated system, improving the visual quality of the space and further reducing construction time. This also includes the lighting system, provided by Performance iN Lighting, who worked closely with all parties involved in the project to ensure the best quality in the final result.

In addition to the classical teaching spaces, the school currently has a gymnasium with changing rooms and showers, a technical room, a media library, a large kitchen and a green courtyard. The heart of the complex is the central atrium, which serves both as an entrance hall and as access to the first floor. A characteristic architectural element of the project is a large multi-functional staircase, which can serve as a tribune, a stage or an informal meeting place for students between classes.
For the classrooms and corridors, SL764 LED pendant and ceiling luminaires were chosen, which were already integrated into the prefabricated modules. For the atrium, A100 pendant luminaires with aluminium reflectors were used, while the GYM LED luminaires, which are resistant to impact and pelting, were pre-installed in the gymnasium. All the light lines were designed using the LIGHT-PERFORMER® online configurator.
