One of the most fascinating and celebrated contemporary photographers on the international scene: Jimmy Nelson.
From 20 September 2023 to 21 January 2024, Palazzo Reale will be playing host to the first solo exhibition to be held in Italy of the English photographer; Humanity. The exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Jimmy Nelson Foundation, presents the career, the adventures, the ideas and the travels of an artist who has always sought to represent indigenous cultures most at risk of extinction. Nelson claims that he sets out on his journeys with the intent to “search for ancient civilizations and document their purity in places where untouched culture still exists”.

Nicolas Ballario and Federica Crivellaro, the curators of the exhibition, have created a spiritual and almost unreal journey to explore unknown, unique and rare worlds. Sculpted, almost Michelangelo-esque bodies crowned with huge, elaborate halos of feathers, singular and proud poses. Sixty-five photographs large-format photographs representing a single project, a journey to explore the beauty of humanity.
