Overlapping geometries and colours in the new vintage collection by Cristina Celestino

With the Bangle collection, the marbles and precious stones manufactured by the Italian company Budri meet the sophisticated and nostalgic vision of the designer.

Vases, trays and jewel boxes are shaped by the superimposition of "bracelets" made of various precious materials. With the new Bangli collection, the Italian company Budri is once again relying on the delicate hands of Cristina Celestino. The Milan-based designer's universe recovers styles, shapes and images from the past and reinterprets them in a contemporary way, with its soft, refined and nostalgic taste.

In this case Celestino is inspired by the vintage taste of bakelite bracelets, an artificial resin that spread between the twenties and fifties in the world of fashion and jewelry. Used to replicate precious materials such as marble, ivory, coral and turtle, the bakelite was characterised by a great ductility that allowed carvings and inclusions.

Stacked and out of scale, these large loops look like miniature architecture. The designer alternates veined marbles such as Rain Forest Green, Baroque Red and Azul Macaubas, full marbles such as Walnut Yellow and Absolute Black, and semi-transparent Onyx.

The collection is made up of bright and always different coloured objects, with the exception of a monochromatic vase with light and delicate tones, made of White Onyx and White Carrara. Celestino treats stones in a unique way, thanks to a skilful mixture of high technology and craftsmanship, which is able to express its emotional and evocative vision without neglecting the innovative side.
