The Symfonisk speaker developed by Ikea in partnership with Sonos aren’t out yet, but their design has already been recognised with a Red Dot award.
The speakers shape reminds slightly of a book and they look just like the first prototype the company has shown last year. It’s unclear if the Symfonisk series will be limited to the models Ikea has already revealed, though, or if there will be more than one version of the product. As it’s clear that Ikea lifted its embargo earlier than expected just to celebrate the Red Dot announcement, actual details about price and target markets are still missing. The company previously said the Symfonisk speakers will be affordable, but that’s hardly an indicator of what they might cost when they will ship at the end of the summer.
