OSA. An award-winning boiler

If we think of a boiler, it is always hidden. Considered one of the less seductive objects in a home, it finally finds the space it deserves. Patented by Unical – an Italian company of industrial boilers with a turnover of 70 million a year – OSA is a house boiler that won the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award 2018. Designed by Art-U, the company’s design division, it boasts ultra-compact dimensions (93 x 52 x 18 cm) with finishes that elevate it to a real piece of furniture: the door can be mirrored, gilded, painted, blackboard finished or even covered with stabilized moss.

However, what makes it a piece of excellence is its technical and energy efficiency qualities, the result of a forty-year know-how. By transferring the industrial technology into the domestic environment, Unical obtained an energy A+ product that features a soft-touch controller, that allows for total control over heat emissions, even using a smartphone. With a customized interface that is intuitive and understandable to everyone, different areas of the house can be managed at different temperatures. It warns you if there are water leaks, it emits a relatively low sound (about 50 dB), it has an antifreeze protection and an anti-overheating alarm. All at an affordable price slightly higher than that of standard boilers.
