British stylist Paul Smith and House of Finn Juhl collaborated for a series of armchairs and sofas, where Danish furniture is upgraded with stylish fabrics.

Danish furniture brand House of Finn Juhl collaborates with British fashion designer Paul Smith for a new exhibition at his London flagship store. The famous chairs designed by Finn Juhl will feature Paul Smith’s fabrics, merging detailing and colorful striped textiles.

Paul Smith Maharam fabric

  Paul Smith is renowned for his aesthetic that combines tradition and modernity reaffirming the values that Paul set down in 1970, “classic with a twist” remains the guiding principle of the company. The exhibition will feature a wide range of Finn Juhl designs, with special attention given to a number of exclusive collaboration pieces upholstered with Paul-Smith-designed Maharam fabric.

The pieces on show are the Finn Juhl 108 and 109 Chair and the 57 Sofa. “Juhl combined an understanding of how things should work with how things should look to such beautiful effect”, Paul Smith comments. “With his background in architecture he knew how to solve a problem with design and always did it with such amazing lines and such elegant simplicity.”
