Celestino: Projections

Guest at Cantiere Galli Design, in Rome, Cristina Celestino recreates the old times in a room full of dreams and vintage touches, where conventions are subverted.

Cristina Celestino was asked to create a site-specific work that interprets the theme of “Personal/Shared” for the last edition of “Una stanza tutta per sé” (A Room of One’s Own), the cultural project by Domitilla Dardi for Cantiere Galli Design, in Rome.

In her interior project called “Proiezioni” (Projections), Cristina Celestino subverts the natural order of things where the interior is primarily an intimate, personal space, while external zones are for socializing and sharing. The reflecting surfaces on the walls create infinite horizons of thought, the walls become big windows framed by sumptuous drapes, the floor wears a soft material without edges, carpeted in pastel tones that also cover the ceiling, simulating earth and sky.
