Resti

The Resti collection breathes the Sicilian cultural heritage, with its colorfulness and decorated gardens, born from the collaboration of ceramist Nicolò Morales and designer Sara Ricciardi.

The Resti (remains) collection is a series of majolicas born from the collaboration between young designer Sara Ricciardi and ceramist master Nicolò Morales, inspired by the forms, colors and patterns encountered walkin on the streets of Caltagirone, in Sicily.

“Remains is a formal synthesis of beauty and decadence, born in Caltagirone, Sicily, admiring the cultural stratifications, colourful steps, columns and the decorated capitals of magical cloisters”, the designer explains. “These echoes and evocations from the past have given shape to the collection.” Traditionally used to create pots, the majolica used in Resti has been translated into five objects that serve as stools and seatings. These have been crafted on a lathe, an ancient and precious technique strongly linked to the territory, and then decorated by hand on a second firing. The project was presented for the first time at the Doppia Firma initiative, presented at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan during the Fuorisalone 2017.
