Chocolate playground

Israeli designer Efrat Iwanir brings together jewel design, ceramics and ethnic food rituals and ceremonies to enjoy chocolate fondue in the finest way possible.

Industrial designer Efrat Iwanir, graduate at the Holon Institute of Technology in Israel, designed a special chocolat fondue set. After studying ethnic food rituals and ceremonies, she decided to make an effort in connecting people and food, while keeping the fondue ceremony elegant.

The fondue set consists in a central tray and chocolate bowl, enriched with a curious set of small eating utensils to grab pieces of fruit. Iwanir was inspired by a playful way of eating, like licking a whisk after mixig up cake ingredients. To do so, some utensils were designed to enjoy chocolate by itself, being able to contain as much chocolate as possible, while others are designed to hold fruits and dip them into chocolate.

The set was produced with the metal spinning and jewelry design techniques, glass blowing and ceramic potter’s wheel. The eating utensils are plated with gold and placed on a black ceramic stand.
