Border Table

Nelli Szabó challenges tablewear imagining a lunch where you can slice your reusable piece of table and cutlery, picking up a sandwich and a water bag.

Nelli Szabó created a table that can be disassembled in a mobile system, which can be set up quickly and easily, and it can be expanded in case of need. The table top is a thin sheet of laser-cut plywood. Participants can break their own ‘pieces’ along the perforations, which can be trays or a spatulas for consuming the food. Under the board sheets there is place for food and drinks.

The objects actually help this eating ritual, thanks to their specific functions. From the bag placed on the board the participants can assemble a package of tools used for eating, that they may take away, thus contributing to the cleaning. The objects and the materials used can be recycled and reused.
