Belligerent Eyes

Constantly looking for new grounds of confrontation on cinema and visual languages, the Prada Foundation in Venice presents a cycle of meetings and experimentations.

“Belligerent Eyes – 5K Confinement” was born out the Fondazione Prada’s will to create a reciprocally stimulating exchange with younger generations working in the realms of cinema and visual arts research and production, enabling them to work in complete autonomy and freedom. Curated by Luigi Alberto Cippini in collaboration with film director Giovanni Fantoni Modena, it will be held at the Ca’ Corner della Regina spaces in Venice.

Fondazione Prada created a place to merge the intuitive with the methodical, proposing new lines of research in the field of moving images and communication. Within an idiosyncratic environment and architectural configuration, the traditional academic frameworks and stabilities are ideally set to mingle with the present modus operandi through which images, culture and information are addressed outside the more restrictive definition of cinematic arts. The program consists of six interdisciplinary phases. Each monographic session is preceded by a preparatory week and lasts for seven days: several professionals propose their own experiences and personal skills.
