Venice Meeting Point

For the Architecture Biennale, Lighbox will transform the Arsenale Navy Officer’s Club in a space fulfilled with art and design works, from internationally known creatives.

During the 15. Architecture Biennale, the publishing house Lightbox will showcase My Art Guides: Venice Meeting Point, a space for conferences, talks, presentations, debates, dinners and cocktails to welcome visitors attending the Architecture Biennale openings at the Navy Officer’s Club in the Arsenale.

The Club space will be contaminated with art and design works by the following artists and designers: Atelier Oï presenting the installation Honminoshi Garden, Davide Pepe and Salvatore Bevilacqua presenting the photo and video installation titled Cities: New York Central Park, Massimo Mastorillo with a selection of images from his project Aliqual on Aquila city after the earthquake and Orbite a virtual dialogue between Matteo Cibic – designer – and Fabio Marullo, painter.

The space we will also host an installation by architect Moreau Kusunoki, a Pyramid made out of Shou Sugi Ban, produced by Zwarthout. Shou Sugi Ban is a special burned wood done following an ancient Japanese tradition. Other important highlights from the three days program are the works of Qin Feng Symposium, the famous Chinese artist at the Cini Foundation, and the book presentation Caricature Architettoniche by Gabriele Neri who will be in conversation with Italo Rota and Manuel Orazi.
