“Animalista. Representación, violencias y respuestas” is an exhibition commissioned by Rafael Foctor at the Casa Encendida in Madrid that aims to build consciousness on animals rights – thinking of possible solutions – with the intervention of more than 90 Spanish artists.

Made in collaboration with activists Ruth Toledano, Enrique Marty and Ruth Moniel Arias, the exhibition showcases drawings, videos, pictures and paintings, where art is linked to animal rights. The event is part of Capital Animal, a wider animalist festival that will take place in Madrid. Developed along three big rooms, the first part focuses on the fascination that humans have for other animal species, it follows a representation on the violence to which many animals are subjected, ending with a reflection on alternatives to such problematic.
Among the artists presented we find Carma Casulá, Santiago Talavera, Alejandro Garrido, Sara Rosemberg, ochodoscuatro ediciones, Editorial Plaza y Valdés, Sergio Ojeda, Paco Catalán, Tras los Muros, Lidia Toga, Santuario Wings of Heart, Santuario Gaia, Trigueros del Valle (Valladolid), Colectivo Britches, Fotopets, Herida de Gato, ZooXXI, Montse Carballo, Ouka Leele, Rabbit Rescue, Mauro Gil-Fournier, Antonio Pérez and Paco Catalán.
