Dome lamp

Benedetta Tagliabue has designed Dome, a new pendant lamp inspired from the Renaissance domes and from Buckminster Fuller research, is made of wood pieces.

“In a journey through time, and by revisiting the history of architecture, we have observed the Basilica Mercè in Barcelona, the Pantheon in Rome, the dome Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence and dome of St. George in Venice... It is also inspired from the domes of the utopian geodesic world of R. Buckminster Fuller, becoming a double dome, towards the sky and towards the land”, says Benedetta Tagliabue about the Dome lamp project.

Dome is a new hanging lamp that projects the light and shadows from its wooden pieces. The light plays with the complex geometry of the lamp, creating innumerable designs of light and shadows, which accompany this lightweight lamp.

Dome is a big format interior pendant lamp made of more than 170 puzzled wood pieces in beech veneer finish. The LED light is above the wooden structure to illuminate throughout the open and diffused portions casting beautiful shadow patterns on surfaces below. Due to the sculptural nature and requirement to have LED lights above the fixture, a minimum height of 120cm is required.
