Superwalk

Formafantasma designed the catwalk and the space around it for the Sportmax show in the Palazzo delle Poste in Milan with a Mediterranean colour palette.

The location for the fashion show was the Palazzo delle poste by Luigi Boggi which has a typical early XXth century facade, while the interiors are a recent intervention with a large dominance of stainless steel and gray nuances.

In contrast the intervention by Formafantasma is based on two main materials: terracotta and a selection of three colored pvc films. The films are defining the catwalk and expanding in the space almost as an infinite loop. The decision to use these two materials is related to the desire of giving a “mediterranean” feeling with the use of terracotta but contrasted with a more contemporary, synthetic material.

The project is inspired by very sophisticated houses such as the ones designed by Pietro Lingeri by Como lake but also the Italian “summer houses”  builded between the 60’s and 70’s characterized by a large use of terracotta solar shadings. The infinite loop takes inspiration by the beautiful drawings by the Cubo Futurism artist Aleksandra Aleksandrovna Ekster.
