Wrap Collection

#151 The sofa conceived by Hioomi Tahara for Yamakawa Rattan is something entirely new with – at the same time – strong references to Japanese culture and tradition. #salone2015

Life should be simple and free, but without losing sight of its richness: this is the concept that designer Hiroomi Tahara brings to the Wrap sofa.

An object characterized by contrasting images and forms that fully preserves its essentiality.

The wrap-around backrest conveys an impression of lightness, although in reality it boasts a rich volume and creates a deep shadow. The contrast of the compact cushion and the thin backrest lends a sense of softness and creates a unified and continuous whole. With Wrap, Hiroomi Tahara proposes something entirely new while at the same time devoting his attention to the richness of Japanese culture and tradition, such that materials, technique and craftsmanship become the heart of this piece.
