Harri Koskinen's designs are sensible and elegant, and as one of the world's best-known Finnish designers, Koskinen has won several awards over the years, the most significant being the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize in 2009 and the Compasso d'Oro Award in 2004.
Lento is a project which began as far back as 2006, with a chair, through Koskinen's desire to design a series of wooden furniture that would be both lightweight and affordable. In 2009 the series was complemented with a table and an upholstered chair, and this year's additions will be the Lento lounge chair and table.
Harri Koskinen's design language is characterised by practicality and an uncompromising aesthetic, which communicates his search for clarity and innovative solutions that meet the needs of the consumer and the manufacturer alike. Koskinen describes the Lento collection as "A graphic product family, but also pleasantly anonymous," which "is equally suited for public places or private homes."
