Nendo: Arobo air purifier

A new spherical air purifier by the Japanese design studio uses simple principles for a more effective use.

Arobo is a new "pure form" air purifier developed by Japanese design studio Nendo for brand C'est La Vie. The spherical purifier uses water's centrifugal force for a more effective use.

According to Nendo, "the force created by the revolving water in the tank draws it into the upper compartment, where a fan vaporizes it into the air.
Water that is not vaporized is caught by the sides of the compartment and returns to the tank."

"Research into the most efficient form for the water's circulation determined the purifier's spherical shape," Nendo states.

"Locating the motor and controls at an angle above the tank allowed us to position the entry point for the electrical cord low to the ground for a clean look. Angling the form meant that the intake and outtake vents are a distance from each other, creating ideal air convection."
