The January 2017 issue of Domus India reflects upon the role and function of the elements of architecture, with a focus on the space of the home.

In artist Vishwa Shroff’s work, featured in the issue, space is mapped in all its accounts of design — flooring, curtains, furniture — and yet, no humans are seen. Details become objects, and larger schematics become available as form and idea, along with a hint to the madness within the tidiness. Moreover, the house design by Anagram Architects for Anita Dube, also featured in the magazine, begins to break open the myth of the home as a familial space of a particular kind and the question of form in a volatile urban landscape. The issue also marks the beginning of a series of specially-designed covers; this idea took shape through a collaboration with designer Ajay Shah of ASDS Studios, Mumbai.
