As is often the case on the social channels of celebrities, a banal photo turns into an “object hunt”. This time it’s Pharrell Williams’ turn, snapped on Instagram comfortably reclining on a red modular sofa. This is a precious example of the Poll Modular Sofa designed in 1970 by German designer Luigi Colani for Rosenthal, currently estimated at a modest 51,983 euros.
Part of the most radical strand of design history that took hold in those years, the object was published on Domus 511 in 1972, in an article dedicated to the new furnishings of “game of relaxing”. Described as “an enclosure for the whole family”, Pool Modular Sofa is a soft conch made up of 80x80cm modular elements placed side by side and combined with a plastic “sledge-table”.

To complete the room, Colani’s masterpiece is complemented by a sculptural lamp created by the multifaceted artist Daniel Arsham.
