Superplaces and surroundings

The Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea, in collaboration with Domus, has invited a group of Italian and overseas architects, artists, authors and administrators to join them in an exploration of the “symbolic future of humanity.”

The space inside a large stadium, an extraterritorial detention camp, a museum that unrolls like a split can: “superplaces” appear as an attempt to build spaces that cast a shadow under the sun of information, but in the end are just the most refined product of space. How can they be explored? The Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea, in collaboration with Domus, has invited a group of Italian and overseas architects, artists, authors and administrators to join them in an exploration of the “symbolic future of humanity.”

The two days (13 and 14 December) of events and debates in Trento (curated by Stefano Boeri and Gianluigi Ricuperati) will involve Jimmie Durham, Dan Graham, Mike Davies, Michel Maffesoli, Enzo Mari, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Joseph Rykwert and Lawrence Weschler.
