Artemide: the lights of Irvine and Crasset

This year research and experimentation in the technology of light have allowed Artemide to propose an abundant family of lamps. The most interesting projects are without a doubt those of the young French designer Matali Crasset and English James Irvine. One of them, called Ierace, is a fluorescent, luminous water spring of reduced dimensions, high rendering and warm tones, enclosed in light form, and supported by four cables that also feed it electric current. It is a technological solution that unites with the luminous magic created by the refraction of light around the edges of the transparent diffuser designed by Matali Crasset. The project by James Irvine, the floor lamp One-Two, was intended for domestic spaces and for the office: indirect light for illuminating the entire area that turns into direct lighting that is directable by rotating the lamp by hand. It uses innovation in the use of the water spring and of technology of fluorescent illumination.
