The work and study this Italian designer carries out around the object forms the central theme of this monographic exhibition put together by Driade, the second of a series of five design events organised in the showroom. Within the frescoed halls of the Palazzo Gallarati Scotti over 300 products are on display for the home, table and office as well as lighting, all designed by Mari in almost fifty years of working for top companies in the field of Italian design such as Alessi, Arnolfo di Cambio, Artemide, Danese, Driade, Kartell, Zani&Zani. Alongside the actual objects is a selection of drawings and sketches (outlined on whatever paper came to hand) which as well as enriching the display, document the design development of single pieces, the laborious research process behind each object. Perhaps the part which is least noticed by the wider public but maybe for this the most interesting. daDriade Via Manzoni 30 - Milano Tel. +39-02-72023203 Open until 23 December
