Born in Naples in 1952, Francesco Clemente is a roving spirit who for some time has been living in New York. This exhibition in Milan is a description via images of his artistic career in the 1980s as well as his travels around Italy, India and the United States.
In his figurative work, the metaphor appears of the physical presence of the artist and that of a dissolving line in the drawing as well as an intensity of colours that recall memories of a nomadic existence. It projects a life that lives halfway between the multi-faceted eastern culture and the energetic New York melting pot. L.B.
