This is the largest U.S. retrospective in the past twenty years dedicated to the work of Henry Moore, an opportunity to examine his fundamental role in the development of modern sculpture.

There are about 165 works on display, among them life-size bronzes, models, incisions, chalks and drawings. They show the entire career of one of the most celebrated sculptors of the twentieth century and accentuate his artistic involvement with surrealism and the first abstract art. The show also exploes Moore's dialogue with architects and the private sculptural expression to public.

At the National Gallery of Art in Washington, until January 27, 2002.
