Anteprima Bovisa, at PAC and at the Triennale of Milan
2002 will see completion of the restoration of the AEM gasmeters structure in Bovisa, which is destined to host the Museo del Presente. As a premiere for this historical event, the great show "Anteprima Bovisa. Milano Europa 2000", which will point out the state of art in Europe at the end of the twentieth century, has been organized at the PAC and the Palazzo of the Triennale.
The show includes 20 European countries, from each of which a curator has been appointed who has independently selected a total of 120 artists born after 1950, among the most representative of their countries, with work produced after 1980 as dictated by the show's regulations, prepared without national divisions in a variety of styles, themes and poetry in a varied and fascinating panorama.
"Anteprima Bovisa" then goes beyond the limits of the two physical locations appointed to welcome it with works that include the city (artistic fireworks, a line bus transformed into a White Bus, original billboards) and a series of events (visits to private galleries, encounters, conferences and special evenings) that constitute the vital ground upon which the great project is beginning to materialize, the readaptation of the AEM gasmeters in the former industrial zone of the Bovisa side where the Museo del Presente will be born.
