With an installation during Milan Design Week, Florim and the designers Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez presented a new collection of porcelain stoneware surfaces.
Premiered during the Milan Design Week 2021 (4-10 September), "Sensi Pigmenti" is the new porcelain stoneware tile collection designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez.
Four new neutral shades recall different mineral essences and pigments extracted from soil, with three decorative proposals: square, striped and trapezoidal geometry. These surfaces evoke the beauty and quality of handmade products and tell the story of the profound bond between art, craftsmanship and design that characterises Made in Italy.
"Evoking immediate, direct emotions. Sensi Pigmenti ceramic slabs appeal to our senses," explain Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez. "The superimposition of natural colours and the layering of minerals creates slabs inspired by nature that attract the eye and invite the touch. Different surfaces, subtle shades of earthy colour in an urban context: the installation brings them to life."

To illustrate the new collection of ceramic surfaces, an installation hybridising land art and urban design was presented at the Florim showroom: a garden, a bar, a swimming pool, a newsstand, a grocery shop and a clothing shop are the settings that gave life to the installation. The concept, which can be enjoyed completely outdoors, featured the seven windows of the Florim Showroom on Foro Buonaparte, decorated with graphics by Sensi Pigmenti.
The path, which is both engaging and open, has also invited visitors to reflect on the role that design and companies must play in meeting today's challenges. This is the case of B Corporations, companies that – like Florim – have chosen to look at business as a positive force, capable of generating profit and creating a virtuous impact on people and the environment. The installation has dedicated a specific showcase to this theme.
Sensi Pigmenti completes the Sensi of Casa dolce casa collection by Matteo Thun & Partners, which combines beauty and sustainability as it has been studied with particular attention to environmental and energy impact. Sensi is made using natural ingredients and recycled materials (up to 42%) and comes from a process that recovers 100% of the waste water used in production. It also uses only self-produced electricity or electricity purchased from certified renewable sources.
