The AEG oven gets even smarter

Over sixty years of research by AEG have culminated in an oven capable of interpreting recipes, perfecting times and temperatures, and optimizing the entire user experience.

Who would have imagined that a home oven could be so “intelligent” that it can read recipe data directly from the web, optimize it, and achieve a completely personalized result?

This function is precisely what makes the AEG oven much more than a household appliance: in addition to ensuring precision and consistency in cooking — always a hallmark of the brand — the oven now integrates connectivity, energy-saving features, and even AI.

The introduction of artificial intelligence: AI TasteAssist

“Thanks to artificial intelligence, we can transfer all the data needed for cooking optimization to AEG’s server for each individual oven model,” explains Marco Zatti, AEG’s Training Manager, to Domus.
But is it really AI that sets AEG ovens apart from other next-generation models? “Artificial intelligence is simply used to activate the algorithms,” says Zatti. “Its role is to assimilate, read, and interpret data, which is then processed by our optimization algorithms — the result of sixty years of ongoing research.” It is precisely this long-standing research into product technology that makes AEG ovens both highly competitive and suitable for home use as well as in starred restaurants. Zatti adds, “Without AI we wouldn’t have been able to do it, but without our heritage, this achievement would have been impossible.” The intelligent system is called AI TasteAssist, and it works on the relationship between the recipe and the result. Through the My AEG app, users can select recipes found online and let AI optimize cooking times, methods, and temperatures. The system doesn’t just suggest the best settings — it progressively learns from personal preferences, saving dishes in “Favorites” and perfecting each preparation.

Steam also plays a key role: it’s automatically recommended when useful to preserve vitamins and minerals, enhance flavor, and reduce energy consumption by up to 20%. In the AEG 8000 Series SteamPro Oven with AI and sous-vide cooking, features like Steamify® and SousVide turn the appliance into a true digital sous chef, attentive to both taste and sustainability. “Optimization isn’t just about making food tastier,” Zatti explains, “but about achieving the best possible result with the least possible energy consumption.” AEG’s algorithms are designed to reach the most energy-efficient temperature for each type of dish, balancing performance and economy.

Design beyond technology and the users’ perspective

Available in two design lines — the elegant Matt version with matte black glass and the more modern Glossy version with a shiny finish — the collection is designed to fit seamlessly into kitchens of various styles. Every detail, from knobs to handles, has been carefully designed for ergonomics and precision. At the heart of the experience is the CookSmart Touch interface, available in two versions with 4.3” or 8” displays, allowing users to navigate through programs and functions as easily as on a smartphone. The built-in Wi-Fi connection ensures that the oven stays up to date: thanks to Over-The-Air software updates, new functions can be added over time without replacing the appliance. Steam technology plays a key role: with Steamify®, the oven automatically adjusts the amount of steam throughout the cooking process to keep food juicy, nutritious, and flavorful. For those who love more refined cooking, the SousVide function helps preserve vitamins and antioxidants better than any other home-cooking method. Even maintenance becomes simple and eco-friendly: with the Steam Cleaning system, energy consumption is reduced by up to 95% compared to traditional cleaning cycles. What do consumers think? A survey conducted by AEG during Fuorisalone 2025 at the Milan Design Hub involved nearly 600 people: over 73% of respondents consider artificial intelligence a key element for the kitchen of the future — as long as it respects personal creativity. On that note, during IFA 2025, AEG unveiled its CamCook technology, which integrates a camera to automatically recognize dishes, learn from user habits, and autonomously adjust cooking settings. In synergy with AI TasteAssist, this feature analyzes ingredients and recipes to select ideal times and modes, paving the way for an even more personalized and intuitive cooking experience.
In Italy, it will be available starting April 2026.
