Modular forms of a modern masterpiece with Edilpiù

An ancient farmhouse in Romagna has been transformed into a contemporary residence. The project, minimalist and linear, blends architecture and landscape through large windows and high-quality materials.

A landscape never lies. And the Romagna countryside, with its gently rolling hills, tells stories of light, labor, and renewal. This is the case of an ancient farmhouse, now only a memory, giving way to a new narrative. A project by architect Roberto Rontini that, through its essential form, speaks a language of contemporaneity. Here, geometry speaks.

Two linear volumes, one tall and one short, face each other, joined by an almost invisible hinge: a hidden entrance that acts as the home's hub. The first two-story volume is a private shell, housing the bedrooms and bathrooms. The second is a single, fluid space for entertaining, where walls disappear and hospitality feels natural.

But the true stroke of genius is the roof. A dark, sculptural architectural gesture unites the two structures and extends into a bold overhang, as if to embrace the landscape. This awning frames the view, turning the panorama of the hills into a continuously changing work of art—the backdrop for daily life.

Light is the real star. It doesn't burst in; it filters, shapes, and models the spaces. This is made possible by the large sliding Tender windows, which blur the line between inside and out, and by the French doors that replace the old openings, making nature an integral part of the home. Every fixture and detail is part of a precise and coherent design. The Finstral satin-white PVC frames provide perfect insulation while blending with the bright interiors. The solid, high-performance anthracite-gray PVC entrance door, the custom matte Eurall shutters, and the smoothly opening Silvelox garage door all contribute to a carefully curated vision. Even the flush-to-the-wall Garofoli interior doors with their invisible frames disappear, becoming one with the walls.

In this space, nothing is superfluous. Everything is pure essence and breathing matter. The sculptural concrete staircase isn't just a way to get between floors; it's an element of dialogue, with its resin treads inviting you to climb and discover the double-height space that connects rest with daily activity. This project doesn't just build; it interprets. It immerses itself in the rural landscape to return it with a new, strong, but never aggressive, architectural language. Here, form, light, and material hold hands, telling a story of balance, harmony, and deep respect for the place where they were born.

The materials, supplied by Edilpiù, are the project's very alphabet: Finstral PVC windows are the keywords of light, and the Finstral entrance door is the beginning of the story. The Tender sliding windows are the punctuation that links the living room to the garden, the Eurall aluminum shutters are the shadows that add depth, the Silvelox garage door is the discreet conclusion, and the Garofoli interior doors are the breath of minimalism.
