Architype, the panelling like you’ve never seen before

Caccaro has created a system that redefines panelling, transforming it from a decorative element into a design tool.

With Architype, Caccaro redefines the concept of wall panelling, transforming it into an active surface that furnishes, organizes, and illuminates spaces with elegance and functionality.

The system is structured on multiple depth levels, creating a dynamic interplay of solids and voids that enhances the tactile quality of the finishes. Insets and light blades, integrated with dimmable LED profiles, produce visual effects and vertical lighting accents that discreetly and elegantly transform the space. In this way, the panelling becomes a true architectural element, capable of hosting various types of shelving. Tratto 6 shelf, a slim aluminum accessory just 6 mm thick, features grazing LED lighting that highlights the textures of the wall. Mensola 50 shelf, on the other hand, is equipped with adjustable spotlights and is designed to showcase art objects and reflect the personality of those who inhabit the space.

“The panelling takes on a new architectural role,” says Monica Graffeo, the company's Art Director. “It lightens volumes, creates visual connections between spaces, defines pathways, and introduces a quality of light that enhances the perception of the environment.”

Two mounting systems – Light and Plus – offer extensive design flexibility. The Light system is ideal for uneven walls and smaller compositions, while the Plus system, thanks to wall uprights with three adjustment levels, allows for the integration of striking elements such as insets and light blades. The panels are also available in an inspectable version, with magnetic openings or concealed hinges, making it easy to access electrical panels or technical compartments.

The panelling adapts precisely to the shape of the walls – including niches, corners, and pillars – transforming them into functional and expressive surfaces. It is designed to maintain perfect aesthetic and dimensional continuity with the Freedhome and Wallover systems, as well as with Architype doors, offering compatible modularity and limitless design possibilities. It can be mounted directly onto the wall or used to clad the back of Freedhome units, turning them into true storage walls. It also supports Wallover’s suspended elements, bed headboards, and a wide range of accessories from Caccaro’s collections: nightstands, sideboards, desk tops, and bookshelves. Each component contributes to a wall system that is fully customizable in terms of materials, finishes, and dimensions.

The panelling lightens volumes, creates visual connections between spaces, defines pathways, and introduces a quality of light that enhances the perception of the environment.

A carefully selected range of materials allows for complete customization. Kera highlights the natural veining of stone; Canneté stands out with an irregular vertical pattern created by engravings of varying depths and angles. Natural wood celebrates the beauty of open pores, while matte lacquer adds an elegant and velvety touch, ideal for tailored solutions. The integrated lighting – dimmable 3000K LEDs – enhances every surface, creating warm and inviting atmospheres. We discovered Architype at the latest edition of the Salone del Mobile, where Caccaro presented an evolution of the No−Wall House concept: a fresh interpretation of domestic space where furniture and architecture blend seamlessly. The integration of Freedhome, Wallover, and Architype opens new design possibilities, creating a continuous, harmonious, and fluid environment. This journey moves through the different areas of the home, reflecting on their functions and the emotions that materials, finishes, and lighting can evoke.
