The new collection by Terzofoco, designed by Emanuel Gargano, reimagines the role of ceramics in furniture design.
Ceramics are often associated with decorative objects or used as a finishing material for interior surfaces in the collective imagination. But what if ceramics could serve as a structural element?
This is the concept behind LuneUp, developed by Terzofoco — a boutique factory based in Deruta, Umbria — in collaboration with the designer and artist Emanuel Gargano. The collection made its debut at Milan Design Week 2025, continuing the design exploration initiated with Lune.

The aim is to shift the perception of ceramics, changing its status from a mere surface or decorative element to a central feature in spatial composition.
The LuneUp system revolves around hand-thrown ceramic bowls that take on a load-bearing function instead of serving as simple containers. These ceramic forms are combined with lightweight yet strong honeycomb aluminium panels finished with cork in various natural tones. The result is a modular structure that brings together different materials to explore the relationship between function, form and sensory experience.
The project is versatile, accommodating both water-based elements like washbasins and fire-based ones like compact barbecues. The system’s modularity allows for customizable configurations suited to both indoor and outdoor settings. A range of functional accessories for storage, preparation, and cooling further expands its applications. The ceramics are available in three finishes—raku, red clay, and black clay—blending seamlessly with the tabletop surfaces to create a coherent and tactile visual language.
Founded by Alessio Scacaroni, Terzofoco has developed a strong expertise in crafting ceramic furnishings and accessories, especially bathroom and kitchen sinks. Under the artistic direction of Emanuel Gargano, the company is now broadening its scope to explore new uses of ceramics in both residential and contract settings.
