Colour and lightness: Pedrali at Salone 2024

Eleven new indoor and outdoor collections by Pedrali were presented through an installation designed by DWA Design Studio: an ethereal, dreamlike environment divided into seven rooms.

An ethereal, dreamlike environment defined by transparent partitions characterised by the skilful use of colour and light materials. The stand Pedrali presented at the Salone del Mobile 2024 was entitled #PedraliColoursofLightness and was designed by the Milan-based DWA Design Studio. This year, the company celebrated its 35th participation in the most important trade fair in the world with many new products: eleven new indoor and outdoor collections, including new products and collection extensions. To represent Pedrali spatially, DWA Design Studio designed a pure architectural volume of over 900 square metres, made of a light blue gauze that allowed visitors to glimpse and feel the inside of the stand. The sky-blue colour of the architecture, which provides a backdrop and creates continuity, is flanked in the various sets by equally soft and delicate tones, recalling the nuances of the sky during the day, while more intense and decisive notes of colour characterise the products presented, which are thus placed in the spotlight within the scene. The design of the greenery is also perfectly integrated into the architecture in a balanced way: nature is the protagonist of all the spaces, defined by shades of colour that recall the different seasons. Delicate ground plants define the outdoors, while suspended plant compositions create an almost surreal atmosphere within the indoor spaces. The collaboration with DWA Design Studio has also led to the creation of a new product, presented as a preview at the Salone del Mobile: Twiny, a collection of rugs born from the need to make the atmosphere of outdoor environments more welcoming and intimate, which includes two different models, both made of twill and defined by a discreet graphic sign: one striped and one diagonal. The rugs are made from a cord obtained by weaving a polypropylene yarn, which is strong yet soft, completely recyclable, and ensures a very high level of performance when placed outdoors, guaranteeing resistance to sunlight and weather, and easy cleaning and maintenance.

In addition to the carpets by DWA Design Studio, Pedrali presented a wide range of novelties: Philía, a collection of outdoor seating designed by Odo Fioravanti, which echoes the lines of traditional Italian outdoor chairs. Rizz, a table designed by Robin Rizzini, made of aluminium, guarantees strength and lightness at the same time. Surrounding the table are the new Héra Soft chairs, designed by Patrick Jouin, which pick up on the fluid and refined lines of the collection, introducing a new level of comfort and envelopment. Designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, Buddy Oasi is an outdoor furniture solution that further expands the Buddy upholstery collection. A system of generously sized poufs and sofas that maintain the contrast between the full volumes of the seat and the lightness of the legs typical of the Buddy family. Ester Lounge, by Patrick Jouin, was conceived as a precious monolith defined by soft lines and harmonious proportions that retains the elegance of the armchair presented in 2013, enriching it with even softer and more generous shapes combined with a high degree of comfort. These are just a few of the many new additions to Pedrali's catalogue. The collections, protagonists of and the leitmotif of the entire Salone del Mobile display, were placed on raised platforms made of untreated birch wood, recreating different indoor and outdoor settings. In order to accompany the visitor on an engaging and multi-sensory journey, a selection of products has been placed on the floor for anyone to try out.
