glo for art presents “Aria” by Olimpia Zagnoli

A new appointment with art promoted by glo for art, which in Rome presents Olimpia Zagnoli's latest work on the steps of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna.

From her childhood in Reggio Emilia to the covers of The New York Times, Olimpia Zagnoli has become Italy's best-loved illustrator abroad in recent years and is now undoubtedly among the world's best-known creatives.  The artist, known for her poetic and pop style, expresses her inspiration through soft shapes and saturated colours. This approach of his was appreciated by glo for art, which commissioned Zagnoli to create a new work entitled Aria. It is an iron sculpture, at once imposing and floating. The work seems to climb gently up the stairs of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome, a Capitoline institution that preserves key works of contemporary Italian art. At over 4 metres high, Aria is conceived as if the artist were using a sculptural pencil: a continuous line chases each other, creating sinuous curves that form a figure, probably of a woman. The line of a two-dimensional drawing seems to detach itself from the paper to become a 3D element, in a Matisse-like cut-out. "The work temporarily captures the atmosphere between the curves and arcs of a line. A drawing that detaches itself from the sheet of paper, walks a long way and sits on the steps of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna. A continuous outline without head or tail that lets itself be traversed by the air, the gaze and the breath of those who approach," says Zagnoli.

For glo for art, the artist took inspiration from air and lightness, expressed in the shapes and lines of both the sculpture and the latest glo HYPER AIR device. A model available in 7 colours, even lighter, thinner and more innovative, thanks to which people will be able to express themselves to the full, each in their own uniqueness. It is no coincidence that the name chosen for both is a tribute to air, its lightness and dynamism. A constant movement that expresses the everyday life of those who are always on the move. Inaugurated today in Rome and visible on the museum's historic steps, Aria will then be donated to the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome, which boasts the largest collection of Contemporary Italian Art, from the 19th century to the present day. Following the collaboration with artists of the calibre of Nico Vascellari and Agostino Iacurci, glo for art continues its work of democratising the artistic experience, thanks to the donation to the territory of important works signed by the protagonists of contemporary art.
