The design of Camerino was born in 2013 from an intuition: to unite the functions and aesthetics of the wardrobe and walk-in wardrobe in a single element. Hence the collaboration between designer Sandi Renko and Caccaro's R&D team, who redesigned the Cabina linear module in a new U-shaped version. Company designers work to give the storage unit a smaller width, but with greater depth. This solution solves the small weaknesses of traditional wardrobes: without the clutter of the hinged door, without the opening limitations of the sliding door, without the masonry work of the walk-in wardrobe. This solution also allows Caccaro to rethink the division between spaces, using self-supporting furniture: right from the start, Camerino is also finished on the sides and back, perfect for any positioning, not only in a niche or adjacent to the wall, but also in the centre of the room.
The evolution of the wardrobe is that of the house
For ten years, Camerino has been the deepest module in Caccaro's range. It is as capacious as a room and self-supporting so that it can be placed anywhere, even in the middle of an open space.
In 2018, the product goes through a new development phase: Camerino is rethought in an integrated way with the new Freedhome System, following the new principles of modularity and compatibility. However, its strengths remain the same. The characteristic patented U-shape allows the shelves to be fully integrated into the structure, with the shelves occupying all three sides of Camerino. The uprights make the view of the interior even more unobstructed and open. The fully-opening doors pack in on themselves with a smooth, space-saving movement, and the lighting is activated by an infrared sensor that detects movement. In this way, the light is only switched on when needed. As dramatic as a casket, its presence catches the eye when open and illuminated, but remains a discreet element when closed. Over the years, Camerino's functions have grown and expanded to include all domestic environments. The interior is enriched with new accessories to allow the product to enter the living area and the home office: a flexible and multifunctional piece of furniture that can be totally customised.By combining its self-supporting structure with the new Architype System, which covers the back, Camerino evolves, becoming even more of an architectural element, dividing and organising space without the need for masonry. In combination with Boiserie, the back of Camerino can accommodate the suspended units of the Wallover System, the complements and the bed collection. This gives rise to new and unprecedented configurations of Camerino, which can accommodate a small study with desk, shelves for display, a hanging cupboard or even the headboard of Let'space, Groove and Bishape.
