"In architecture, the handle is a kind of miniature. It belongs to the history of costume, and with respect to a house it has the same aesthetic task that a piece of jewellery has with respect to the human body," wrote the designer (and twice editor of Domus) Alessandro Mendini, emphasising the central role that such a small element can play within a room. This kind of attention can be found in the work of Oknoplast, a leading international company in the PVC and aluminium window and door frame sector, which with its new Lunar handle has gone beyond the design of a design accessory to the essence of the window and door frame. The handle is designed to be integrated into the window profile, making the escutcheon invisible.

The minimalist aesthetics of Oknoplast's Prolux Evolution PVC window becomes even more essential thanks to Lunar, the new handle with a slender profile and rigorous geometry.

Applying, for example, the new Lunar handle on the Prolux Evolution PVC window, the result is a window with geometric rigour, whose elements have been designed with the aim of increasing indoor brightness: the slender profile, with its reduced central node, allows valuable glass surface area to be gained and thus supports a larger glazing unit made of extra-light glass with high transparency. This enables Prolux Evolution to provide up to 22% more light than a conventional PVC window. The presence of the new, discreet and minimal handle further lightens the aesthetics of the window and frames the external landscape, without encountering any more disturbing elements. In addition to Prolux Evolution, Lunar is also available for the other Oknoplast Squareline, Prismatic and Prismatic Evolution PVC windows and doors, and in the colours steel, gold, white, brown, black, bronze and graphite.
