The time of the stone

Marmomac, the most prestigious international exhibition in the stone sector, will be back in Verona from 29 September to 2 October 2021, a place where design, architecture and stone culture meet. An important new feature this year is The Italian Stone Theatre – Time in Stone, an exhibition that will be located in pavilions 11 and 12 of the fair, telling the story of stone through the topic of time: What distinguishes natural stone from other artificial products, in fact, is its permanence over time, an immaterial component held within the stone body by an indissoluble bond with the material. The exhibitions presented are divided into thematic areas, such as design and architecture, art and university experimentation, and also involve important furniture brands.

All the works exhibited within The Italian Stone Theatre - Time in Stone are candidates for the Icon Award, set up by Marmomac in 2016 to reward the works with the greatest symbolic, design and aesthetic value. The selected project is then used as part of the event's promotional tools for the next edition. This year, the public will be the juror for the Icon Award: they will be able to vote for the works on special multimedia totems or via smartphone, indicating their preference on the event's social media. Marmomac is being renewed in terms of content and format, with the implementation of new digital tools but at the same time guaranteeing the possibility of face-to-face meetings: to ensure maximum safety in professional meetings, VeronaFiere will adopt the Saferybusiness protocol.
In anticipation of the event in Verona, Marmomac has already presented and activated Marmomac Plus, a digital space dedicated to professionals and operators in the world of natural stone. This platform makes it possible to prepare for the event with a vast showcase of products and a series of events and online meetings whose main purpose is to consolidate the "Marble Community".
