With an increasingly important role in the entire home, modern radiators are emancipating themselves from the status of simple plant equipment, to become objects capable of designing and defining space. The trend whereby heating devices are not elements to be hidden or left in the background, but fundamental components in the composition of an environment, is not new. The Italian company Caleido is undoubtedly one of the main protagonists of this trend. The brand confirms its desire to experiment and innovate with a new product designed by architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti.

Ottolungo is a radiator that has the elegance of an architectural column. Its slender and elongated shape, with its feminine character, is reminiscent of a twin column, joined into a single element.

A fundamental characteristic of the Ottolungo radiator is its adaptability to space and various needs: the different heights available allow for a comparison that is always appropriate to the environment. Free-standing or wall-mounted, with both hydraulic and electric operation and a sliding coupling system on the back that allows the insertion of towel rails, clothes hangers and other accessories, to be positioned at the desired height.

"Because of its size and relative physical presence in the interior environment, the radiator remains one of the fundamental elements of the space and its furnishings. There are many attempts to hide it, integrating it in the walls, and others are those to enhance it as a tendentially 'artistic' presence. With this new collaboration with Caleido, our thinking was to think of the radiator as a detail of design and character, an object to be made to dialogue with backdrops, openings and light, material and colour," say architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti.

The radiator has been designed following the principles of environmental sustainability carried out by Caleido. The product is made of metal, steel and recyclable aluminium, so it is durable and can be completely recycled when it reaches the end of its life.
