VanMoof, the Tesla of e-bikes, has introduced the S3 and X3, the newest models of its popular e-bikes line. They’re an evolution of the S2 and X2 launched in 2018 and pack a re-engineered system inside a frame with a quite similar design to the previous generation. The real news here is the price: for the first time both bikes are available for less than 2000€, 1998€ (to be precise).

S3 and X3 differ only for the frame sizes available, but they sport the same technical features, which include a new gear-shifter with 4 speeds that’s completely electronic, a smaller and more silent front-hub motor (with 250W or 500W of power), a better Turbo Boost feature and hydraulic disk brakes both for the front and the rear wheel.
The battery, which is hidden within the frame, has a capacity of 504Wh. It can be recharged in 4 hours and has a range of about 60km in full power or 150km in economy mode.  Like on all the other VanMoof bikes, on the S3 and X3 you can’t remove the battery for charging. If you live in a city either you have a garage or a garden with a power outlet available, or you’ll have to carry the bike to your living room evert night. VanMoof S3 and X3 are available right now for pre-order on the company’s website and will start shipping in July.
