Giovanna Mazzocchi wins the Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement

The president of Editoriale Domus has been awarded the Compasso d’Oro Lifetime Achievement, the prestigious prize promoted by ADI since 1954.

During the XXV edition of the Compasso d’Oro ADI – the most authoritative award on the Italian design scene – Giovanna Mazzocchi – president of Editoriale Domus – has been assigned the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This particular prize – eleven in all – is given to leading figures and companies in the contemporary Italian and international design scene.

“A consistent interpreter of the family publishing tradition” explains the jury’s motivation, “she has been able to plan and re-launch
its international cultural identity which has rewarded its serious and in-depth contents with editorial success. Through her constant activity she has contributed in a fundamental way to the spreading of the principles of Italian know-how worldwide”. Since 1986, Maria Giovanna Mazzocchi is president of Editoriale Domus, which includes various magazines such as Domus, Quattroruote, Dueruote, Cucchiaio d’argento and Meridiani.

The career prizes have been assigned to entrepreneurs, professors and leading professionals in the Italian and international design scene; among them American designer and illustrator Milton Glaser, the founder of Artemide Ernesto Gismondi, fashion designer Nanni Strada, designer Angelo Cortesi, car designer Chris Bangle, interior designer Zeev Aram, design promoter Giuliano Molineri, the design entrepreneur Adolfo Guzzini, designers Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi and Poliform entrepreneurs Giovanni Anzani, Alberto Spinelli, Aldo Spinelli.
