Miki Astori's most recent design for Italian furniture company Driade is Peanut, a coffee table devised for outside use. Inspired by the curbside poles that line the streets of Milan, it will be presented at Salone del Mobile 2012. The aluminum table comes in grey or green, the latter shade described as a "British racing green."

Driade describes Peanut thus: The designer is often the one who "looks at things through different eyes". Miki Astori faces in this perspective the project of outdoor table Peanut, changing the "physiological" needs of outdoor furnishings into strengths.

"The result is the strongly weighted base shaped in a little "Panettone", a tribute to that "bollard for parking" designed by Enzo Mari that characterizes the streets of Milan. As is the case for road signs, a tube is inserted in it. Peanut, as a whole, has the force of things "out of fashion".
