In addition to being the most important design event in the world - in terms of numbers of products and events as well as the quality of the proposals presented - the Salone del Mobile in Milan is also an opportunity to reflect on the issues relating to the project and the role that designers can play in a scenario marked by climate change, social inequalities, migration and political tensions. That's why we thought of this second edition of DomusPaper as a tool for multidisciplinary analysis of design, analyzing the present and indicating possible ways to follow.

Domus Paper is the tabloid dedicated to the Design Week in Milan which offers an exclusive insight into the design of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is a supplement to the April issue of Domus and will be distributed free of charge in the districts of Fuorisalone.

We asked ourselves many questions and tried to give answers with a pragmatic approach. We asked ourselves, for example, if there really is a feminine vision of design and architecture and if women are still struggling to stand out and be recognized for their value and talent on a par with their male colleagues. Whether the SaloneSatellite formula has retained the enamel that made her establish herself as a model in 1998. Can design contribute to enhancing traditional techniques and assisting artisans to bring them to the market and even socially and economically redeem entire communities? What are the most effective didactic tools for communicating the new world of design with current social, political and economic demands? And how designers deal with the problems of water scarcity, plastic reuse, waste from the textile industry, the availability of medical resources in remote places and psychophysical health in social times. What is the message that makes the Bauhaus - 100 years after its birth - a model of reference and how attractive decoration is to designers today? What contribution are the designers making to the world of medicine and what is the point of experimentation on new materials made from algae, salmon skins, limestone, apple peels, mycelium. Or, what are the boundaries between design and art and how to keep at bay a technology that is increasingly pervasive and hidden. And much more.
