Massimiliano De Martin

Counsellor for Urban Planning and Environment of the City of Venice

 

Massimiliano De Martin has been the Counsellor for Urban Planning and Environment of the City of Venice since 2015 and believes in applying a transversal strategic approach to addressing the environmental challenges facing the entire spatial area of Venice, taking care of the difference in planning strategies of the island city and the mainland. As part of his mandate, he dealt with the new Building Regulations, the Venice Lido Beach Plan, the urban development of the port, airport and railway areas, the Venice Blue Flag Agreement between the Municipality of Venice, the Port System Authority and cruise companies for the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere, of the new strategic plan for separate waste collection in the Ancient City and on the islands.

He is also the political contact for the UNESCO site of Venice and its lagoon.
