The coronavirus crisis is a complex phenomenon, made up of many intertwined dimensions that cannot be separated: it is sanitary, economic, biological, scientific, spatial, anthropological, psychological and existential. Above all, it reveals the deepest crisis of our time, the cognitive one. That is the impossibility of embracing the complexity of our time, a condition in which causes and effects are confused in a bond of inextricable interdependencies.

Our problem does not lie in what we do not know, but in the way our knowledge is produced and organized. The hyper-specialisation that marked the 20th century today lacks an understanding of the fundamental phenomena made up of a multiplicity of interconnected factors.
